Moonscape
An evening piece, I felt like experimenting with a limited palette as a practise for an upcoming piece. For speed the water was generated in vue then painted over in photoshop.

An old mountain test from when I was playing around with vue, I decided to update it and add the northern lights and some other small details.

Sweet Reminisce
Portrait of my gorgeous friend Sandra.
This is the first portrait i've done since going digital, I used to sketch and paint people all the time and I don't really know why I stopped! I'm relatively happy with the result.
PSCS4 with wacom, an evening piece.

Stormy Times
So i felt that my previous post of oceans rage was lacking something so I decided to revisit it and add a frigate. Im pretty pleased with the outcome but might go back and add extra details but for now im content with how it's come together.

Parahandy update
So just a quick edit, i'm going through some older paintings and tidying them up a bit. With this one ive changed the bg colour for contrast and tidied up the horns a bit.

Mountainscape
A quick evening concept from an old sketch i found. Im quite liking the limited palette. I might come back to it and do more, but i've had enough for the mo!

Oceans Rage
I fancied trying my hand at a more detailed ocean picture. I went for a crashing wave as the main focus to give the scene a sense of violence. I didn't intend to keep so limited a palette but i'm pleased at how it's turned out.

A Refining Moment
Started out as an oil refinery silhouette and sort of expaned from that becoming more dramatic.
Hope the lighting isn't too dark, hard to tell on my screen, if it's too dark please let me know and i'll lighten it.

Koi Dreams
A concept based on the idea that when we look up at the clouds we imagine all sorts of things, but what would a cat see in the clouds.......fish of course!! Hope you like.
(let me know if the image is too bright and i'll fix it, my screens been playing up recently and i've had some feedback that some images are too bright!)

I love Predator, way too much!
Soo a painting I did this evening, Predator has been on Film4 a couple of times this week and it been great to see Arnie at his peak again, so I felt inspired to do a quick portrait as its been a while since i've done any. The pose is from the end credits and the bg is just a quick mashup to represent all the smoke at the end, hope you enjoy :)
Toby
I was browsing through some old photos and came across a few of my dog Toby and decided to do a quick painting.

Ambush at the Bird Bath!
A while ago I caught my cat napping in the bird bath, when I saw her I thought that the bath would be the perfect place for a cat to not very subtly ambush birds. Just a fun piece, hope you enjoy!

Parahandy
Hi all, i'm feeling very Scottish recently since all this to-do with some sort of wedding or something! Soo i thought what better to do than paint a wee highland cooo! Over time we've had around 15 pet cows so I really enjoyed painting this! We had one called Parahandy who died early on so this is a sort of tribute to him and all the other moos we've had!

'Purr-sian Blue'
So this is my submission for the Aberdeen Artists exhibition. Also a big shout out to Sarah Coonan who also submitted a gorgeous ceramic bowl. I hope we both get accepted!
I've decided since I don't have a full time job yet that i'd try to keep myself busy. It may or may not be accepted but I like how the drapery has come out and the subtleness of the figure, so overall I'm actually pretty happy with the piece!

The Approaching Storm
Looking back at some of my older pieces I felt inspired by the stormy ocean concept, so I decied to take it a step further and focus mainly on an atmospheric piece. Hope you like it! Thanks for viewing.

Ice Siren
Hi all, long time no uploads!
Before x-mas I got a few commissions for some figurative work, so the digital aspect had to take a back seat, so for the first new image this year I thought I would try combining some of my figure studies with some digital work. I found this piece quite challenging because of the ice's texture, but i'm glad I gave it a go, not my best but its always good to experiment. Here's a before and after pic for your consideration!
